Determination and Study on the Mechanism of 2,4-dinitrophenol Using Differential Pulse Voltammetry

2003
The voltammetric behavior of adsorptive wave of 2,4-dinitrophenol is studied. The 2,4-dinitrophenol shows a sensitive adsorptive wave at -0.43 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) in a solution of 0.2 mol/L NaHCO3-Na2CO3 (pH=9.60).The peak current is proportional to the concentration of 2,4-dinitrophenol in the range of 4.0×10-7-6.0×10-4 mol/L. The detection limit is 8.0×10-8 mol/L. The electrochemical behavior and reaction mechanism of the system are studied. The electrode reduction process of 2,4-dinitrophenol is irreversible with adsorptive characteristics.
