Assessment of Ground Water Quality of Gajraula Industrial Area Of Uttar Pradesh, India

Groundwater is a natural resource for drinking water and it should be assessed regularly and people should be aware about the drinking water quality. The present study was undertaken to identify the ground water contamination problem in villages located in the close vicinity of Gajraula Industrial area of Uttar Pradesh, India. Ground water samples were collected from the hand pumps and wells for the study and analysed by standard methods. The concentrations of various parameters are found near prescribed limits of WHO and BIS guidelines for drinking water. Therefore it can be concluded that water should be purified before consumption.
