Analysis of tendency of ductile fracture at corner of workpiece during grooveless rolling

Mechanism of ductile fracture at corner of workpiece during grooveless rolling for high-speed wire is analysed in this paper.Meantime,with the aid of numerical simulation,the tendency of ductile fracture at the corner of workpiece is studied.The results show that there three-dimensional tension stress exists at the corner of workpiece during grooveless rolling,and ductile fracture occurs more possibly in this area than at other places.It also shows that grooveless rolling leads to ductile fracture at the corner of workpiece more easily than traditional groove rolling.
