Wind Energy Resources and Exploitation in Mountainous Area

There are abundant wind energy resources and lacked observational data in mountainous area.The wind energy resources distribution in mountainous area is complex,difficult to monitor and evaluate.Wind electricity exploitation in mountainous area have some adverse conditions,such as diverse terrain and complicated geological,discrete wind distribution,traffic inconvenience to the remote location,complex climate,higher building requirements.On the other hand,there are many favorable conditions,such as abundant wind energy resources,reasonable seasonal distribution,high value of exploitation and utilization,supported by state policies,continuously improvement of wind electricity efficiency,high enthusiasm of enterprises,less arable land occupation,less environmental impact,fewer immigrants,and so on.On this basis,the article proposed some main measures,including strengthening the wind resource monitoring,developing study on the fine distribution of wind energy resource,manufacturing the wind power generators adapted to mountainous areas,scientific planning and step-by-step implementation,and strengthening study on all links of wind electricity exploitation.
