Polarization Anisotropies in Individual Quantum Dots and Correlation with Defocused Emission Patterns

2D and 2D+1D dipole models for predicting the optical properties of CdSe-ZnS quantum dots are considered. Observed defocused interference patterns and linear polarization anisotropies in emission suggest the 2D model may not be sufficient.
