Phase separation of polymer blend TMPC/PS: dependence on blending method

2000
Abstract Phase separation of polymer mixtures of tetramethyl bisphenol-A polycarbonate (TMPC) and polystyrene (PS) was studied by real-time small angle neutron scattering. Depending on the blending method (solution casting or melt mixing), samples are shown to exhibit different kinetics of spinodal decomposition and subsequent coarsening.
