Využití Zn-Al hydrotalcitů a směsných oxidů v aldolové kondenzaci

This bachelor thesis is firstly about properties of Zn-Al hydrotalcites used for preparation of mixed oxides and rehydrated mixed oxides which were formed from hydrotalcites by calcination. Synthesized materials were used as the catalyst of aldol condensation of furfural and acetone. Zn-Al hydrotalcites were prepared by using a co-precipitation method while different synthetic conditions, such as temperature of the synthesis, how fast you add a metallic cation and also the speed of stirring because all those are variable factors which can cause any change in the result. Secondly I focused on comparison of an activity and selectivity of Zn-Al mixed oxides and rehydrated mixed oxides in the aldol condensation of furfural with acetone. A number of instrumental methods (XRD, TGA and BET) were used to characterize solid samples. A gas chromatography was used to analyze aldol condensation products. Unfortunately it turned out that the prepared materials possess a low catalytic activity.
