The Adoption of Industry 4.0 Technologies by Electrical and Electronics Industry in Malaysia

The Fourth Industrial Revolution (also known as Industry 4.0) is reshaping the manufacturing industry. It provides limitless opportunities to manufacturing industry and holds the promise of reaching unprecedented levels of efficiency, productivity, quality, flexibility and reducing costs and time-consuming in production. However, it is unknown what factors may influence the adoption of the Industry 4.0 technologies by organizations. Purpose – This research aims to use the Technology-Organisation-Environment (TOE) Framework to investigate the factors that influence the adoption of the Industry 4.0 Technologies by the Malaysian E&E Industry within the TOE framework’s three contexts: technological, organizational and environmental contexts.
