Effect of Different Grazing Intensity on Plant Growth and Above-ground Biomass on Deyeuxia angustifolia Meadow in Sanjiang Plain

2012
The growth and the seasonal changes of aboveground biomass of Deyeuxia angustifolia,Sonchus brachyotus,Cirsium setosum,Stellaria radians and Taraxacum officinale on Deyeuxia angustifolia meadow in Sanjiang Plain under different grazing intensity were studied. The results showed that the growth of Deyeuxia angustifolia,Sonchus brachyotus and Cirsium setosum were decreased with the grazing intensity increasing, the growth of Stellaria radians was stimulated under moderate grazing, and the influence of different grazing intensity on Taraxacum officinale was less. The total biomass was the maximal at July, and the lowest at September. The total biomass under light grazing, moderate grazing and heavy grazing was reduced by 26.85%,28.37% and 44.64% respectively compared with no grazing. There was non-uniformity influence of grazing on the aboveground biomass of different plant populations.
