How to look at an unequal well-being

Looking at equity issues when analyzing the well-being of societies implies taking into account all well-being domains beyond traditional economic aspects, namely income, allowing for the identification of excluded groups and lacking opportunities through measures of distribution among individuals or through the breakdown of indicators for different groups (e.g. territories, gender, age, education, income, nationality…). A broad set of well-being indicators as the one proposed within the CNEL-Istat initiative BES – Benessere Equo e Sostenibile needs then an overall approach for the evaluation of multidimensional inequalities on which Istat has started to work.
