Aplicabilidad clínica de tecnología de hibridación de ácidos nucleicos a gran escala (micromatrices o microarrays) en estudios de alergia

2013
Microarrays applied to the Allergology are based on the modern technology of the biochips which takes advantage of the ability to measure in a single test specific antibodies to multiple allergen components. The microarray provides results for more than one hundred components from nearly 50 different allergen sources. ImmunoCAP ISAC (Immuno Solid-Phase Allergen Chip) is a multiarray technology package designed for the assessment of patients with a history inconsistent, unsatisfactory response to treatment or polysensitized patients. Specific IgE, IgG and IgG4 antibodies can be measured. Until recently, these techniques have been used in research to assess allergy to cannabis, heroin and morphine in drug abusers from rehabilitation centers and allergic patients treated in hospitals. Today, it is possible to diagnose severe adverse reactions to morphine that could have been avoided. If sensitization to heroin and morphine (opiates) may result from these techniques, a diagnostic-therapeutic pathway with important social, legal and health implications would open. Also would provide a new method to prevent intraoperative anaphylaxis by morphine and other adverse events in the treatment of pain.
