Bis(perfluoroalkanesulfonyl)methylene dimethyloxosulfonium ylids (RFSO2)2C-S(O)Me2: formation and X-ray structure of Me2(O)S-CSO2(CF2)3SO2

Abstract Air oxidation of bis(perfluoroalkanesulfonyl)methylene dimethylsulfonium ylids obtained from the photoreactions of phenyliodonium bis(perfluoroalkanesulfonyl)methides with dimethyl sulfide afforded the title compounds. The X-ray structure of Me 2 (O)S + − − C SO 2 (CF 2 ) 3 S O 2 is presented.
