"PEDODONTİ PRATİĞİNDE STRES ÖLÇEĞİ"NİN GELİŞTİRİLMESİ: GEÇERLİLİK VE GÜVENİLİRLİK ÇALIŞMASI

2021
Dentistry students have been shown to be more depressive, anxious and stressful than other departments, in the performed researches, the aim of this study is to develop the Pedodontics Practice Stress Scale (PPSS). 4th and 5th grade students who interned in the pediatric dentistry clinic of Inonu University Faculty of Dentistry, in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 academic years have been included in this study. Factors that may be a source of stress in the pedodontics clinic have been categorized by taking expert opinions, and the PPSS was developed with 4 sub-dimensions and 29 items. Explanatory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and content validity index methods have been used to determine the validity of the form. The scale reliability has been tested with; Cronbach's α reliability coefficient, item total correlation, test-retest analysis. DFA fit index values for the PPSS scale were within the desired range, and the Cronbach α reliability coefficient has been found to be 0.915. It has been determined that the PPSS is a valid and reliable tool that can be used to evaluate the stress that may occur in pediatric dentistry clinics. With the usage of the PPSS, it will be possible to determine the stress factors that may affect; the efficiency of the physician, the patient's cooperation and even the effectiveness of the treatment by creating stress in pediatric dentistry clinics.
