2014
Objective To explore and analyze the effect of radiotherapy in patients with advanced esophageal cancer using extended care. Methods From a retrospective analysis of our hospital from March 2012 to March 2014,60 patients were treated with radiotherapy, according to the chronological treatment, 30 cases in each. The controlled group was given a call once a week after discharging, while the test group extended care after discharging for three months. The two groups were observed health knowledge to grasp the situation, patient satisfaction and complication rates for nurses. Results The experimental group of rest and activity, dietary knowledge, skin care, medication knowledge and mastery prevention of complications was significantly better than the controlled group(P 0.05). Experimental group was significantly higher overall satisfaction(P 0.05). Experimental group had radiation pneumonitis, esophagitis, the incidence of radiation dermatitis and esophageal obstruction significantly lower than the controlled group(P 0.05). Conclusion Patients with advanced esophageal cancer undergoing radiotherapy extended care can significantly improve the health knowledge to grasp the situation, higher patient satisfaction, less complication rate and high security. So it is worth promoting.
