The Sandy Haifa Acre Plain as a Typical Phyto-Ecosystem of Israel’s Coast

The Haifa Acre Plain is an area of intensive industrial and urban development, necessitating works of maintenance for stilling the shifting sand-dunes which cover the area, as well as to protect the coast against sea invasion and against new sand inundation originating most probably from the Nile Delta and transported by the currents of the Mediterannean to the North Coast of Israel.
