Time-based Predictions Broadcast Protocol

With wireless communication techonolgy maturity,it is possible for improving traffic safety and preventing congestion by ex-changing or dissminating traffic informaion on road.Broadcast technology can usually be adopted for delivering the emergency messages to drivers who are driving cars on road,but it is often interfered by the hidden nodes,signal interference,information redundancy and con-tention.This paper proposes Time-based Predictions Broadcast(TPB) that is drived by event,it is suitable for cooperative collision avoidance in two-way multi-lane on the highway and selects relay nodes based on position,speed and direction that vehicle nodes receive message.The simulation results show that TBB can effectively distribute emergency message and it has low latency,little message retransmission and hop counts.Therefore,the protocol can reduce message redudancy by selecting relay nodes and lessen broadcast storm probability.
