Evaluation of Multimodal Techniques for Blind People to Track Moving Objects

2004
This chapter describes the evaluation of an accessible computer game for blind and visually impaired people. Unlike other accessible computer games, this game uses force feedback and stereo sound to provide players with an interactive environment in which they can engage with dynamic objects. The evaluation is conducted to assess the techniques developed to help blind people to catch the moving objects in the game. The evaluation results are useful for developers to develop interactive environments with dynamic objects for blind people. This game is our first attempt to apply multimodal interaction technology to accessible entertainment software. The accessible game is introduced in this chapter as well as the evaluation process and results.
