SUMMARY Designing academic literacy support programs is a very complex task. These designed programs aim to assist university students, in particular international and other students who are non-native English writers/speakers. These students have a range of language problems. In this pattern the authors will show how to apply genre theory to address students’ language difficulties in written assignments.
