The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for displaying a touch screen menu button of the mobile terminal, the mobile belongs to the technical field terminal. The method comprising: obtaining state opposite left and right sides of the touch screen of the mobile terminal; and when the right or left of the screen above the right than the left side, the higher side of the screen to display the menu button. The apparatus includes an obtaining module and a display module. The present invention determines the state of the left and right opposite sides of the touch screen of the mobile terminal by the gravity sensor, so that the user can determine the current operating state based on the opposite state, for example: left hand holding the mobile terminal touch screen, the touch screen right hand holding the mobile terminal, in turn menu button disposed at a position easy for the user operation, so that the user can operate the menu button conveniently, embodiments of the present invention, when determining the display position of the menu buttons, consider the user's operation habits, more user-friendly operation of the menu button, improved user experience, to achieve a better user interaction with the touch screen mobile terminal.
