The invention relates to a method for determining the deformation modulus of great-depth coarse-grained soil, in particular to a method for determining the deformation modulus of great-depth coarse-grained soil, which is applied to the field of water-power engineering. The method provided by the invention and being capable of quickly determining the deformation modulus of great-depth coarse-grained soil according to easy-to-measure parameters of coarse-grained soil comprises the following steps: a, collecting the in-situ mechanical test values of deep and thick overburden layers; b, achieving statistical correlation analysis on the soil dry density, the average particle diameter and the corresponding deformation modulus; c, building a relation of the deformation modulus; d, acquiring the dry density and the average particle diameter of the great-depth coarse-grained soil; e, substituting the dry density and the average particle diameter of the soil into the relation to obtain the deformation modulus. According to lots of in-situ mechanical test data of the deep and thick overburden layers, through the correlation and the statistical analysis, the empirical formula of the dry density, the average particle diameter and the deformation modulus of the great-depth coarse-grained soil is built. The method is simple, convenient and feasible and is suitable for Holocene normally-consolidated great-depth coarse-grained soil.
