New therapies for allergic rhinitis.

2000
: New therapies for allergic rhinitis are more effective and have fewer side effects than older medications. Antihistamines, decongestants, and cromolyn sodium nasal sprays are often tried first. Immunotherapy requires a lengthy course of injections, but it can bring long-term relief for severe allergies.
