Valores científicos y educativos de un nuevo Bien de Interés Cultural: el yacimiento paleontológico de Las Hoyas (Cuenca, España)

The palaeontological site of Las Hoyas (Cuenca) has consistently been in the autonomic, national, and international media during the last years. The most recent findings and scientific publications have led the society of the Castilla-La Mancha region to re-discover its interest in Palaeontology. The edict of 15th March 2016 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, declared the site of Las Hoyas (La Cierva) as a Cultural Interest Site, in the form of Palaeontological Zone. Las Hoyas particularly combines the natural, cultural, geological and palaeontological heritages. The effort of the regional government in order to promote the scientific and cultural values of their heritage runs together with that of researchers, who implement different strategies in order to facilitate the participation of students and the rest of society, who demand to take part on the palaeontological development. Among all the values of Las Hoyas, we herein focus on the didactic and educational ones.
