Incubation lighting impact and application design for commercial hatchery

With the development of poultry industry, LED has been widely used in the modern poultry farming industry to improve the performance of poultry production, even in the incubation. Previous studies have shown that giving poultry a certain amount of light during the incubation stage can not only improve the development of embryos and enhance the effect of incubation, and it can also improve the quality and production performance of chicks. At present, light manipulation in incubation is still in the research stage and has not been applied in commercial hatchery. From the perspective of lighting schemes design, this paper reviewed the effects of light elements such as light color, photoperiod and illumination intensity on the embryo development and hatching performance. Furthermore, the selection and arrangement of lamps in the existing research are summarized and the influence of engineering factors on illumination uniformity are explored. In order to get an idea intensity distribution among the eggs, the LED style and install position in the commercial hatchery was manipulated using Light Tools. It provides reference and commercial application recommendations for the production practice of lighting in current business incubation.
