Through the adoption of the method provided by the invention, the short messages can be grouped and classified according to an established grouping and classifying rule of the contacts; for guaranteeing the flexibility of the grouping setting, the user can automatically add an individual grouping, and thus the management capacity for the mass electronic terminal short message is effectively improved, the speed and accuracy of seeking and filing the short messages and the short message management efficiency of the user are improved.
