Oxidation of syndiotactic polypropylene

Sorption of antioxidant phenyl-β-naphthyl, by syndiotactic polypropylene and oxidation of this polymer in the presence and in the absence of the antioxidant were studied. As was shown, the qualitative characteristics of the kinetics of the noninhibited and inhibited oxidation of syndiotactic PP are close to the analogous parameters of isotactic PP; however, the initial oxidation rate of the syndiotactic polymer is much lower.
