Effects of allelochemicals hexadecanoic acid on soil microbial composition and biomass in rhizosphere of eggplant.

2010
In this paper, effects of hexadecanoic acid simulated the component in root exudats of eggplants on microbial community, microbial physiological groups and microbial biomass in the rhizosphere of eggplants were studied. The effects of hexadecanoic acid on microbial population and diversity in rhizophere of eggplants were illumated. The relationship between effect of hexadecanoic acid as one of the main components of root exudates of grafted eggplants on microoganism and resistance to soil-borne disease was discussed. Results showed that hexadecanoic acid changed microbial community structure in rhizosphere of eggplants, with increase of bacteria(B) and actinomyces(A),decrease of fungi(F),enhancement of the ratios of B to F and A to F.The amounts of microbial physiological groups in the rhizosphere of eggplants were significant higher in hexadecanoic acid treatment than in Control. The soil microbial biomass carbon, soil microbial biomass nitrogen and soil microbial biomass phosphorus were higher significantly in hexadecanoic acid treatment.Hexadecanoic acid promoted the height and stem diameter of eggplants with increasing concentration.Hexadecanoic acid improved the environment in rhizosphere of eggplant, and also promoted the plants’ growth vigour on the upside of eggplants.
