It is generally described an electronic Gepackverstauungssystem for an aircraft, comprising: a first detector for detecting open space in a cabin of storage space, wherein the first detector is configured to output cabin storage data due to the determining; a processing unit in communication with the first detector, wherein the processing unit is configured for: processing the cabin storage data; Receiving and processing of luggage size data indicating the size of one or more pieces of baggage; and outputting Gepackverstauungs mapping data in response to processing the cabin storage data and the luggage size data, the Gepackverstauungs mapping data display one or more target positions in the cabin of storage space in which these are to accommodate one or more pieces of luggage, and a display device in communication with the processing unit for providing for display of the one or more target positions on a flight attendant or passenger of the airplane.
