History of one the typical representatives of the provincial nobility in Kursk province of the 18th century and the beginning of the 20th century is analyzed on the example of Annenkov’s nobiliary family. The article considers contribution of the members of the nobility to the history of the formation and development of the manor. The paper clears up the character of their economic, social and cultural activity.
