Study on Separation of Carrier-free Silver-111 from Irradiated Palladium by Macroporous Anion Exchange Resin

1991
The sorption behaviors and mechanisms of macro-porous anion exchange resin toward silver (Ⅰ) and palladium (Ⅱ) in hydrogen chloride solution have been investigated in this paper. The optimum conditions for the separation of silver and palladium, which exist in the species of [AgCl4]3-and [PdCl4]2- respectively, have also been studied. In the anion exchange column, 111Ag is efficiently isolated from irradiated palladium, with a recovery of radioactivity 95%, and palladium contaminant less than 3×10-5.
