Application of critical thinking diagnostics in the renal setting

Lack of critical thinking was at the core of an incidence of an avoidable diabetic coma in a renal surgical ward. Here Anita Farrell, Kay Riley, Susan Wheeler and Scott McLean describe the actions that were taken afterwards and how the use of a critical thinking methodology enabled the nurses at the ward to develop new strategies for smarter working and better patient care.
