Isolation and Identification and Antibiotic Sensitivity Tests of Streptococcus suis

2010
According to the cultural and staining characteristics, morphology and biochemical tests,10 strains of Streptococcus suis were isolated and identified from 20 samples of sick and dead pigs.18 kinds of anti-Gram-positive bacterial drugs were used for drug sensitivity tests for the isolated 10 strains. Results showed that the 4 strains from pig farm A were highly sensitive to fortum, polymyxin and cefalotin, and highly resistant to penicillin, ampicillin, erythromycin, norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin and amoxicillin;the 6 strains from pig farm B were highly sensitive to cefotaxime, fortum, rifampicin, polymyxin and highly resistant to penicillin, ampicillin, erythromycin, cotrimoxazol, norfloxacin and ciprofloxacin.Animal Test shows 10 strains were all highly pathogenic to mice.
