Resolution of Peritumoral Brain Edema Following Combination Therapy with Dexamethasone and Furosemide

1977
The favourable effect of dexamethasone (D) in the treatment of brain edema associated with brain tumors has been confirmed manyfoldly. The response, however, is limited and seems to vary with the type of tumor (2). An attempt was made to enhance the antiedematous effect by com-binating D with furosemide (F), a drug which probably has a different mode of action on edema.
