We read with interest the study by Guo et al , evaluating the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB) in aspirin users after Helicobacter pylori eradication.1 It revealed a higher risk of GIB in new aspirin users even after H. pylori eradication than chronic aspirin users as well as non-users. The propensity score matching method was also performed to balance the potential differences of baseline characteristics among groups, which largely compensate for the deficiencies of retrospective research.
