Do Sick Newborn Infants Benefit from Participation in a Randomized Clinical Trial? |[diams]| 168

1998
Background: Previous studies have suggested that adult patients who participate in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have better outcomes than patients who are eligible but not enrolled. This benefit has been observed even in the absence of any treatment effect which is attributable to the experimental manoeuvre. No such data are available for newborn infants.
