Simulation of elastic behavior of organic-silicon sealants at large deformations

A model of two ceramic plates connected in an overlapped way by a Viksint sealant was used for calculation and standard shear testing in order to determine elastic characteristics of the glue layer. The correspondence between experimental and calculated data was established in the study. It was shown that the applied numerical model enables the more precise specification of mechanical characteristics of the glue layer.
