사운드스케이프 조사연구의 선구적 사례와 그 전개방법

The purpose of this study is to inquire into the various investigative methods through the leading cases of soundscape research based on the concept and meaning of soundscape, and ultimately to establish theoretical basis of investigation and development methods for soundscape research. The ways of conducting the investigation over the soundscape research were verified three types of method such as hearing survey, field survey and documentary survey which is to find out relationship between local residents and their societies uncovering all kinds of sound in relation to the region. Comprised of various soundscape research from Schafer's WSP pioneering activities to diverse research activities of Japan, the leading cases show a characteristic of soundscape research which is to grasp the sound environment as a overall sound culture. Sound environment of a region in proportion to the historical transitions and geographical structures in particular are reflected in social and cultural values with the community lifestyle and characteristic of the region.
