Chemical constituents of Anthospermum perrieri (Rubiaceae)

2018
Abstract Phytochemical investigation on the aerial parts and roots of Anthospermum perrieri led to the isolation of two anthraquinones ( 1-2 ), one naphthohydroquinone glycoside ( 3 ), four flavonoids ( 4–7 ), two coumarins ( 8–9 ), two phenolic acids ( 10–11 ), two iridoids ( 12–13 ) and one steroid ( 14 ). Flavonoids ( 4–6 ), phenolic acids ( 10–11 ), steroid ( 14 ), asperuloside ( 12 ) were identified from aerials parts. Anthraquinones ( 1–2 ), naphthohydroquinone ( 3 ), coumarins ( 8–9 ) asperuloside ( 12 ) and asperulosidic acid ( 13 ) were identified from roots. These results are the first chemical data on non-volatile constituents of this species. The chemotaxonomic significance of these compounds is summarized.
