Sagittal Translation During Osteotomy

Sagittal translation (ST) is an accidental event that surgeons commonly encounter during spinal osteotomy in ankylosing spondylitis kyphosis. As a displacement developed at the level of osteotomy intraoperatively and postoperatively, sagittal translation (ST) had been recorded in all of the osteotomy methods [1–4] since Chang et al. [5] first reported it in spinal osteotomy surgery (Fig. 13.1).
