Characteristics,Application and Development of BAF

2004 
Biological aerated filter (BAF) is a new recently developed process to treat organic wastewater. The main advantages of BAF are high-quality effluent achieved at high organic loading rates and no requirement for secondary settlement tank. In this paper the process principles, characteristics, application and development of BAF are described.
