Automatic impedance matching of high-frequency oscillator and gas-discharge laser

This paper investigates ways of constructing an automatic matching circuit of a high-frequency (HF) pumping oscillator to a gas-discharge laser, in particular a CO 2 laser excited by a high-frequency discharge. Automatic matching systems are required to provide for long-term laser operating efficiency. Series and parallel tuning methods using the gradient algorithm are considered. An example of the implementation of an adaptive matching circuit is given.
