Rates of triplet humic acid sensitized photolysis of hydrophobic compounds

1988
The rates of humic acid photosensitised E-Z isomerisation of some cinnamic esters with different association constants for partitioning between water and dissolved humic acid were found not to depend significantly on the degree of association. It is concluded that in the aquatic environment the degree of association with humic or fulvic matter will only negligibly influence the rate of photosensitised reaction.
