CONDICIONES HIDROGRÁFICAS Y QUÍMICAS EN LA COLUMNA DE AGUA DE LAS ADYACENCIAS DE LA CUENCA DE CARIACO, ESTADO SUCRE, VENEZUELA

Se determinan las caracteristicas hidrograficas y quimicas de las aguas costeras del ecosistema investigado, en tres estaciones desde la superficie hasta los 50 m de profundidad. Se empleo la metodologia clasica de los analisis hidroquimicos estandarizados de usos comun para las aguas marinas. Existe similitud en la variacion de los datos hidrograficos e hidroquimicos en la columna de agua (0 a 50m ).La temperatura es alta (23,50 a 27,00 oC) con marcada estratificacion La mayor parte de la columna de agua es ocupada por la masa de agua superficial de temperatura >24,00oC. La salinidad es de tendencia homogenea (36,859 a 37,136),con valores altos de densidad (ot = 24,185 a 25,625) y de oxigeno disuelto (3,76 a 5,47 ml/l), caracterizandolas como aguas fertiles de intensa actividad biotica. Los nutrientes son elevados por debajo de los 20m (Ests. 3 y 4), tipificados por el influjo antropico y por el efecto del desplazamiento del agua fria subtropical, indicativa de la intensidad de los procesos bioticos y abioticos. Se confirma la interdependencia de los parametros hidrograficos entre si y la escasa o nula dependencia de las especies quimicas nitrogenadas y fosforadas. ABSTRACT We determined the hydrographical and chemical characteristics of the coastal waters in three stations of the ecosystem under study, from the surface down to a depth of 50m. We used the classic methodology of standardized hydrochemical analyzes in common use for marine waters. There is a similarity in the variation of hydrographical and hydrochemical data in the water column (0 to 50m). Temperature is high (23,50 to 27,00 oC), with marked stratification. Most of the water column is occupied by the superficial water mass, whose temperature is >24,00oC. Salinity tends to be homogeneous (36,859 to 37,136), with high density values (ot= 24,185 to 25,625) and high dissolved oxygen values (3,76 to 5,47 ml/l), which characterizes them as fertile waters of intense biotic activity. Nutrients were high below 20m (Ests. 3 and 4), typified by anthropic influx and by the effect of cold subtropical water displacement, which indicates intense biotic and abiotic processes. We confirm the interdependency of hydrographical parameters among themselves and the scarce or null dependence of nitrogenous and phosphorated chemical species.
