Device for managing a mobility protocol for an equipment of a network of IP communications, to a service continuity

2004
A device (D) dedicated to managing a mobility protocol (MP) for equipment (NM) on an IP network. This device (D) comprises first (MG1) and second (MG2) substantially identical management means, coupled to each other, and each capable of operating the core (CP) of the mobility protocol (PM) installed in the equipment ( NM), based on current data on mobility. The first management means (MG1) can be placed in an active state, respectively a standby state, when the second management means (MG2) are in a standby state, respectively an active state. Furthermore, the first (MG1) and second (MG2) management means are arranged to transmit at least some current data so that if necessary those placed in the standby state are placed in the active state to replace those activated to operate the heart (CP) of the mobility protocol (PM).
