Spindle Cell Lesions: A Microscopic View (Differential diagnosis of spindle cell lesions)

Soft tissue tumor broad term for mesenchymal malignancy arising from various connective tissue .They is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality. This tumor accounts for 3%of all the tumors which cause death. Soft tissue tumors are rare because of its accumulate information about the natural history of such heterologous lesions. There for thorough focused gross examination is a vital component of overall evaluation and diagnostic work-up of soft tissue tumors. Common errors like under sampling, inappropriate sampling, not inking margins can severely hamper accurate diagnosis, pathologic staging, and subsequent clinical planning. This Review article gives brief description of spindle cell lesions with focus on differential diagnosis currently available variety of diagnostic procedures such as immunohistochemistry was explained for accurate evaluate soft tissue tumors.
