Research to implement didactic designs on the legal concept of hess to overcome student learning obtacles (LO) / difficulties. This research was conducted at SMAN 16 Padang with a total population of 34 students of class XI IPA and 2 chemistry teachers. The instruments used in this study were items of TKR (test the ability of respondents), observation sheets and interview guides on the legal concept of hess. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a didactic research (DDR) design approach. The research started from observation, interviews, and implementing the didactic design. Based on the research results, it was found that the implementation of the didactic design could reduce learning difficulties from students and problems that arise in learning
