New Technique for Three-dimensional Flow Visualization using a Surface Path Rendering Method

2000
A surface path rendering technique was developed as a new flow visualization method. This method is based on a principle of a smoke visualization, and applied for three-dimensional numerical flow simulations. In this method, hundreds to several ten thousands of transformable surface elements are released as stream tracers, which are visualized as well as in particle tracing technique. In this paper, some numerical flow were visualized with this method, and we confirmed that this visualization is quite effective for understanding of three-dimensional flow.
