Dorsosacral Myxoma mimicking Pilonidal Sinus
2017
Introduction: Pilonidal sinus disease (PSD) typically affects the sacrococcygeal region. Other pathology rarely affects the natal cleft.
Methods: Case report.
Results: 40 year old male attended Surgical Outpatients with a 2 cm lump in the natal cleft. Magnetic Resonance Imaging suggested PSD. The natal cleft was excised and closed off midline with modified Limberg flap. The histological diagnosis was myxoma.
Conclusion: We present a quite uncommon case of the dorsosacral myxoma, mimicking a pilonidal sinus.
