The use of iron-nickel alloys in the study of the pressure distribution in bridgman anvils

1990
The use of iron-base alloys, which are metastable under normal conditions, and in which compression leads to irreversible change of the phase composition, is proposed for the study of pressure inhomogeneities in high pressure chambers. The pressure distribution in Bridgman anvils made of VK-6 is studied in the case of the bcc-fcc (α-γ) transformation caused by compression in the iron-nickel alloy at room temperature
