Application of flipped class model based on MOOC in postgraduate courses for management

Objective To study the effects of flipped class model based on MOOC in a course for the postgraduates of management major. Methods After literature research and expert centralized demonstration, “MOOC” curriculum was selected and implementation plans and assessment methods were developed. Twenty-three postgraduates from social medicine and health management of Third Military Medical University were selected to attend this course. Teacher’s and postgraduates’ recognition of the method about flipped class model based on MOOC was interviewed and investigated. Self-control method was used to compare the achievement of this course to the average achievement of the other seven courses in the same postgraduate. Results The method of flipped class model based on MOOC was approved by the teacher and most of the students. The score of this course was lower than that of self-control, but with no significant difference. Conclusions The method of flipped class model based on MOOC plays positive role in stimulating student interest, strengthen research exchanges and promoting apply their knowledge, but still need to be improved.
