The terminology of secondary school geometry seems well-established, but it is imperfect, as evidenced by careful examination of certain concepts and the terms that denote them. Our purpose here is to uncover some of the possible types of problems with the terminology, to point at actual examples of such problems, and to propose solutions where it seems appropriate.
